Harassment from Management has been an ongoing battle since the last threat of a strike. Your tax dollars are going to the annual income of CCTA Supervisors whose position is to not only be on the scene of any event or situation that might take place but, also to follow drivers as they work. They complete daily reports on everything that has happened during their shift.
With surveillance cameras, passengers on the bus as well as all of the other vehicles on the road, its not enough so they hire people to watch the drivers.
A Supervisor falsified his daily report stating a driver had just missed a pedestrian, was speeding and other infractions. That driver was fired based on the report. The video was watched by another member of management and confronted him on his reporting. Not one thing he reported was on video. A complete lie. All the Supervisor said was "I'm entitled to a mistake once in a while." That same Supervisor was involved with another driver for a verbal confrontation and actually has a history of the sort. Yet, the company does nothing.
The company wants to be able to watch the videos from the buses whenever they want and watch those drivers they want. Language like "Based on severity" lets CCTA decide what course of action THEY want to take. Quotes such as "I can do what I want" and "I don't care" are quotes from Management. They don't care about the Union and our rights and continue to abuse their power such as the false report on the driver.
These examples and more, combined with the other issues, are why drivers are feeling the way they feel. No support from their Management team and a GM who spoke with drivers when he was hired about these issues and more and not seen since. His falling asleep during negotiations shows where he stands with his drivers.
